The Artist
I’m a fisherman. Before I was anything else, I was a fisherman, and so was my
father and his father and his father before him and now my son is too, maybe he’ll be the last of the fishermen, the last of the salmon hunters.
I grew up in the west of Ireland on the River Moy fishing salmon, onto the lakes
for trout and eel and to sea for mackerel. Fishing, hunting & foraging is
in me, it was part of our nourishment, our food and more importantly our
identity. As the wild Atlantic salmon numbers dwindle, I endeavor as an artist, or more as
a storyteller really to tell their story. I want to capture the essence and
beauty of the fish & food of the Wild Atlantic West Coast.
In my career as a keynote speaker & recognized sleep expert, in a digitally
obsessed corporate world, I have found my peace and balance in coming back to
my childhood of fishing and telling stories. My work aspires to bring you back
to a magical place, a carefree time or a treasured memory.
